Quake was a collaboration of Hal McGee and Chris Phinney (Mental Anguish). Recorded November 30-December 2, 1990, at Electronic Cottage Headquarters, Apollo Beach, Florida. Chris Phinney: ARP Axxe, Korg Poly 800, voice, percussion, FX, loops. Hal McGee: Moog Prodigy, ARP Axxe, voice, percussion, FX, loops, Korg Poly 800, Moog Rogue, engineering, mix. Side One contains some crunchy synthesizer-based abstract industrial space music. Side Two contains our first forays into percussion and electroacoustic textures, as well as ambient scapes. Originally released on cassette, C59, on the Harsh Reality Music label (HRM 223), 1990. Primary full-color xerox cover pictured above - photo taken at the Big Bend Power Plant, Apollo Beach. Alternate cover pictured to the left. Photos taken by Tawnya Phinney.
