One of my favorite tape releases in my catalogue, and a favorite of listeners over the years. Intense electroacoustic dark ambient urban soundscapes. Recorded August 11-12, 1990 at Sound Of Pig Studio in Brooklyn, New York. Al Margolis (If, Bwana): Cello, TRumpet, French Horn, Moog Rogue, Yamaha DX9, percussion, Vako Orchestron, Moog Sonic Six, FX, engineering, mix. Hal McGee (Dog As Master): Vako Orchestron, Cello, Moog Sonic Six, FX. The Orchestron is a rare electronic instrument that is similar to a mellotron except that it uses 12-inch vinyl records instead of magnetic tape. Originally released on my Electronic Cottage label, in 1990, C54. Reissued on my HalTapes label in 1995 (HT034) on cassette, and later on CDr. Photo by Debbie Goldberg.
